How to Remove Red Wine Stains
It is easier than you think to remove red wine stains using the Red Wine Stain Remover. The same removal instructions apply to carpets, clothes and upholstery. The Red Wine Stain Remover works by loosening the molecules that have latched onto the fabric and caused the stain; as soon as this high-strength Red Wine Stain Remover is sprayed onto carpet or upholstery you’ll see it instantly neutralise the red wine stain!
Step 1 - Red Wine Stain Removal Preparation
The Red Wine Stain Remover has been specifically made to be safe to use on all types of fabric, however be using it we recommend you carry out two simple tests.
-
Pre-test in an inconspicuous area before using.
-
Check for dye stability, colour change and texture change.
The first thing you should do with any red wine stain though is blot it immediately with kitchen roll. Do not rub or scrub the stain, just use the kitchen roll or an absorbent cloth to soak up as much of the red wine stain as possible.
Step 2 - Removing the Red Wine Stain
Removing a red wine stain is very simple.
-
Spray the Red Wine Stain Remover directly onto the stain so the surface is wet and agitate it with a Microfibre Cloth.
-
Blot the red wine stain with a clean piece of cloth, dabbing from the outside of the stain to the centre. DO NOT RUB. By working from the outside of the wine stain to the centre you eliminate the chance of spreading the stain.
-
Keep applying the Red Wine Stain Remover in this way until the stain is removed or no more stain is transferred onto the cloth.
If the red wine stain has sunk deep into the material (this can be common on carpets) you can spray the stain with the Red Wine Stain Remover and then apply a few layers of kitchen roll, followed by some books or heavy objects.
Using this method, the Red Wine Stain Remover loosens the red wine stain, and the kitchen roll will slowly absorb it. If doing this you should check back after about one hour and repeat the process, however, even if you left it overnight it would be fine.
Once the red wine stain has been removed, wash the area with warm water to remove any residual cleaning product.
Step 3 - Treatment After Stain Removal
After removing a red wine stain you should protect the fabric with our Carpet & Upholstery Protector to help prevent future red wine stains. The protector will make all carpets, upholstery and fabric stain repellent, so any future red wine stains would bead up on the surface, rather than soaking in and causing a stain.
